So we started our way towards unknown. Pete and I departed early morning from Tampere, with some relatives around. Quick change at Copenhagen where we still gave a few reports and after 9 hours of travlling landed to Narsarsuaq. Landscape was not something we expected: glaciers seemed worst than we thought and there was no sign of snow anywhere. Temperature at Narsarsuaq was around +10 C and we realized our plans need to be revisited

In original plan, we would have skied from hotel backyard to edge of glacier. Now there is summer everywhere. Even though we are now at level of Helsinki, sceneries are just like in northern Finland.

Basically, we have few options. One of them is to carry all our equipment to edge of glacier (6 km one way), which would take about one week. Wednesday we think about this option and decided to go to glacier next day. Only after that we would made our decision. Another thing that made our day confusing was our film duties. Each and every thing we did was actually done two to three times, since Ari wanted to film all possible things. Last thing that we solved was that cargo should arrive here on Saturday.

Thursday we set out early. We did our walking to edge of glacier twice, since it was also filmed. We had a good laugh about it and it seems Ari has material for a full-lentgh film. After 5 hours (and three shots) later we reached glacier. It soon came clear that if we start here, it will be three weeks before we reach areas of snow. We decided, that we'll take helicopter flight on Monday, and by-pass this bad terrain.

Despite of all this, our feelings are good. We hope to be on our Monday, when next update will be sent... Journey is finally about to start!
